Leroy "Satchel" Paige was the first player ever inducted into the Hall of Fame expressly due to his work in the negro leagues. This official American Association baseball is clean and in EX-MT condition. The signature on a side panel in 8/10 blue ink reads: "BEST WISHES FROM SATCHEL PAIGE." The right-handed pitcher began his professional career in 1926 with the Chattanooga Black Lookouts of the Negro Southern League and, in 1948, became the oldest rookie to play in the major leagues at the age of 42.
