Floyd Patterson won an Olympic gold medal and the world heavyweight championship on two occasions in a career that spanned almost 20 years. He retired in 1972 after a loss to Muhammad Ali. In 1978 he was honored by the Veteran Boxers Association for his "Outstanding Contribution To Boxing" with the award we offer here. This metal on wood award features a boxer in fight pose atop a trophy measuring 23" high. Some scratching and gouging, but still perfectly intact. An important award from the veterans in boxing who would know.
