Hall of Fame outfielder Zack Wheat penned this note to Roy Hanney on June 15, 1961, agreeing to attend that season's Old Timers' Day minus his wife, who had died 18 months earlier. Wheat was 73 years old at the time, and his writing/signature rate 7/10. There is one red pen mark in the middle of the page, circling a few words. Wheat was a career .317 hitter and won the 1918 National League batting title.
