Though he hailed from a small town in Indiana, Gil Hodges was adopted by his fiercely loyal Brooklyn Dodgers fans as an honorary New Yorker, and the reverence he experienced during his time at Ebbets Field and then as Mets manager was unprecedented. This 1950s game-worn jacket kept the beloved first baseman warm during many nights on the diamond in the franchise's final seasons in Brooklyn, perhaps even during the glory year of 1955. The gorgeous, royal-blue satin jacket features the classic Dodgers slopes across the chest in white script. Hodges' #14 is sewn on the left wrist in three-inch-tall numbers. Wilson Size 46 tagging is in the collar. This is one of the most magnificent jackets we've encountered, especially considering the prestige afforded it by its original owner. It's in fantastic shape, having been lovingly preserved by its recent owner(s).
