These three buttons from the 1920s all have one thing in common: Hall of Fame second baseman Rogers Hornsby, who was on the 1929 National League Championship team that is commemorated with a team photo on the widest of these pins (nearly 3" in diameter). Thirty-four members of the club are posed for a team photo in this one. The smallest button (less than one-inch diameter) features the Hall of Famer wearing a St. Louis Cardinals cap and a red border with the writing: "MRS. SHERLOCK's HOME MADE BREAD - HORNSBY ST. LOUIS NAT'L." The middle pin also puts Hornsby front and center with the words: "2B - HORNSBY - CUBS" atop his head and "EVENING AMERICAN" below it. This last button has some damage on the front, while the others show minimal flaws.
