Roy Harris's moment of fame was his World Heavyweight Championship bout versus defending champion Floyd Patterson. The fight took place in Los Angeles in 1958. To this day it was the last true heavyweight title bout to occur in the city of angels. This photo collection (49) includes several images relating to that affair including a tale of the tape shot and a great shot of Joe Louis standing between Patterson and Harris as they jovially squared off during a TV appearance. SF Examiner and wire photos are mostly 8" x 10" and average EX plus condition. There are also images of Harris's bouts with Charley Powell and Donnie Fleeman as well as a shot of him shaking hands with fighter Lew Jenkins who helped Harris to train.
