Georges Carpentier who hailed from France, fought mainly as a light heavyweight or heavyweight in a career that spanned from 1908-1926.In 1913 he became Europe's heavyweight champion defeating Billy Wells. After retiring from boxing he starred in several American and French films, both silent and "talkies". The three sheet paper poster measuring 47" X 63" dates from the early 1930's. The poster has been folded and therefore has creases and some small holes on the corners. Colors are vibrant and the poster is in overall good condition for a piece its age.
