The Denver Spurs of the CHL donned Rawlings manufactured and Rawlings and Giesler-Jorgen tagged durene jerseys in the 1974-75 season. They were then recycled to the WHA’s Denver Spurs for the beginning of the 1975-76 season. Before the Spurs skated in their customary Wilson and BH Sport tagged jerseys, they donned these recycled Rawlings and Giesler-Jorgen tagged jerseys. As evidenced by the WHA Spurs team photo, the numbers on these vibrant colored road jerseys were up much higher on the shoulder and the hem striping was different than their BH Sport counterparts. Also, evidenced by the nameplate being removed on this jersey, you can be rest assured that is was worn in the WHA. The first style of the WHA Denver Spurs is offered in this lot. Rick Morris’ #10 jersey with the nameplate removed is all original with Rawlings size 48, “L”, “Giesler-Jorgen, Clayton, Mo.”, and washing instruction tagging in the hem. Nice use throughout the jersey with three team repairs along with heavy stick mark across the front. Blue and red paint transfers on the right hip with orange colored transfers on the left hip. Four additional repairs on the back of the left sleeve with scuffing from board burns and light stick marks. Five more repairs evident on the back of the right sleeve with another team repair on the front of the right sleeve. Three repairs upper back close up the holes left by the removal of the nameplate. One final repair on the lower right backside. Scattered orange and blue paint transfers across the lower back hem stripe. Nice board burn on the back right side near the side-seam. Light pilling inside behind the back numbers and at the elbows of both sleeves. A classic WHA jersey. Giddy-Up!
