A facinating piece perfect for the amatuer historian or baseball detective out there. This tan, heavy wool garment, which comes directly from the McCarthy family, has no identifying markings or labels aside from his chain-stitched name, "Joe McCarthy", in the collar. Now, the letter and stitch style are very similar to those used in Yankee apparel and equipment at the time, which leads us to believe this is a garment that he may have worn during spring training or in the early fall while with the team. Certainly an item of some intrigue. Additionally, the lot includes a pair of vintage tan baseball socks with blue and red stripes, that are again of an unknown origin. Both are in EX-MT condition.
