One of the early stars from the early days of the Brooklyn Dodger clubs was Jimmy Sheckard, a left-handed hitter who also played left field for the Brooklyn Superbas of the National League. Though it was at the end of his 1900 season with Brooklyn that he received these amazing gold-colored cufflinks for being an integral part of that club’s pennant championship title (its second in a row), it was the following year that proved to be his peak, having belted .353, 11 home runs and 104 RBI’s, as well as leading the league with 19 triples and a .536 slugging average. In the shape of a bat and baseball, this duo is a vintage wonder. Engraved on the balls is “Brooklyn B.B.C.”, encircling an elegant tiny diamond, and the bat has “Champions 1900,” all together making for a tremendous find. One bat and two balls are slightly dented, yet nothing is taken from pieces’ elegance.
