After the Dodgers move west, New York fans, unwilling to join the Darkside, lobbied long and hard for a new "home" team to rival the hated Yankees. Their prayers were finally answered in 1962 when the Mets took the field for the first time at the Polo Grounds. Offered is an inaugural yearbook from that first season when they stumbled out of the gates to a 40-120 record (EX). Penned with ten nice vintage ball-point signatures on the front cover, including many of the key performers like: Casey Stengel, Gil Hodges, Richie Ashburn, Roger Craig, Charlie Neal, Al Jackson, Gene Woodling, Ken Mackenzie, Rod Kanehl and Bill Hunter. Overall they grade as 7/10, while lighter pencil autographs from Jim Hickman, Chris Cannizzaro and Marv Throneberry are 3/10.
