Before the MVP’s, the home run race, the records, the Gold Gloves, and the controversy, was the center fielding Barry Bonds, #24, on the Pittsburgh Pirates. He did move to left field in 1987, the year he slipped his hands into this lefty’s mitt - a well-used Wilson model A2002-XLO. Nicely broken-in, this tan leather mitt was once a clean, shiny specimen, which can be seen in the accompanying 8x10 photo, where a smiling young man’s head leans in pose upon the exact mitt offered here; compare the freshly written “24 Bonds” in black marker on wrist strap in both photo and (a tad more aged and worn) on actual glove offered here. One of the best Bonds game used items you will ever find. Photo has typed writing on verso, "#24 Barry Bonds (OF) Pirate City Bradenton FLA, Spring Training 87," and dated, "ran TAB 4-7-87." Also photographer's stamp "Post Gazette Photo By V. W. H. Campbell, Jr." on verso.
