Armand LaMontagne is best known for his wooden sculptures of Ted Williams and Babe Ruth at the Baseball Hall of Fame. No matter what LaMontagne creates, even if it is in ink on paper, he always includes some wood in the piece. Original hand-painted sculpture on black wood plaque is one of only less than 5 of these hand painted renditions of Ruth that he created. On the verso, the plaque is stamped "A. LaMontagne" and is also signed in gold by the artist "Babe Ruth By Hand Painted by Armand LaMontagne." Piece is 18" in diameter and NRMT.
