In 1984, Bruce Springsteen released the very commercially accessible “Born in the USA” which propelled him from rock star to omnipresent media giant. Three years later he took a step back into just plain restrained good songwriting, the type that serves his base best, with “Tunnel of Love.” It focused on a marriage falling apart and was far more introspective than anything he had tried before. Most importantly, it worked, to the tune of more than one million copies sold. This 17 x 21” framed piece in EX-MT condition, contains the platinum record that was presented to Bruce by RIAA in honor of his topping the million barrier. The beautiful platinum album sits above a plaque (7-1/2 x 3”) with a mini cover of the album on the left and “Presented to Bruce Springsteen to Commemorate the Sale of More Than 1,000,000 Copies of the Columbia Records Album, Cassette and C.D. “Tunnel of Love.” Below that, from left to right, the CD, “RIAA Certified Sales Award” and a silver cassette, reading “Platinum Sales Award.”
