In 1989, the Chicago Cubs made just their second post season appearance since 1945 when they won the National League East and earned these championship flags. One is 111 X 57” and includes the team’s logo, the year and `N.L East Champions’ on the field. The nylon flag has red borders surrounding a white field and blue stitched lettering. The flag is completely in tact with no rips. There is some slight discoloration on the logo and a few slightly loose threads on the stitching throughout. The other flag is roughly 66 X 35” with rips and damaged threading on the fly end. The flag is navy blue and includes the year ‘1989’ stitched in white across the field. The white end border is heavily stained and there are slightly loose threads throughout the item.
