Here’s a signed postcard from legendary American hockey pioneer Walter Brown. The 3.5 x 5.5” postcard is a B&W photograph of the canals and busy streets of Amsterdam. It is addressed to “Mrs. George O. Brown” of Massachusetts, his mother, also a hockey Hall of Famer. On the back it reads in Brown’s own blue-inked scrawl, “Twelve hours NY to Amsterdam. Unbelievable. Weather here much colder than at home. Off to Rome in a couple of hours. Love to all Walter.” Two Netherlands stamps are on the back of the postcard, and included with it is a green “Reserved Accommodations” embarkation card, which has Walter Brown’s name on it (unsigned) and stamped the “SS Pres. Roosevelt: from Southampton to New York”. Two great mementos from Walter Brown’s trip!
