1938 was a transitional year for the Yankees, but with a 99-53 season record and a 4-0 sweep of the Cubs in the World Series, the club was obviously adjusting to the changing of the guard. Lou Gehrig, Bill Dickey, Red Ruffing, Lefty Gomez and Joe DiMaggio were among the older and younger stars. Black & white, 9 1/2” x 12 1/2”, mounted on black card stock. Minor defects include a small ink smear and a couple of light nearly invisible creases. A 1 1/4” tear at bottom center has no missing paper, and is well hidden in the grass. A small inscription “1938” in light grey is painted on the grass. A great picture - almost everyone is smiling!
