Before Wayne Gretzky, before Mark Messier, before five Stanley Cups in seven years from 1984 to 1990, the Edmonton Oilers were a fledgling hockey club trying to make it in the upstart World Hockey Association where they were known as the Alberta Oilers. Each member of the 1972-73 inaugural team was awarded a 10K gold ring from Josten’s including this one to No. 19, defenseman Ken Baird. This great looking ring is in NRMT condition and features the team logo on the face over a dark blue marble backing encircled by ‘Alberta Oilers WHA.’ The inside of the ring features the Josten’s stamp and the 10K designation. Each side of this 12 1/4 size ring has an engraving of a hockey player. One side has Baird’s name and number and the other has his position and number.
