Before Howe, Hull and Gretzky, Superman on skates was Maurice “The Rocket” Richard. The first to score 50 goals in one season (1944-45) and 500 goals in a career, he reached an even higher plateau when he notched his 600th goal (519 regular season, with 81 more in the playoffs) on November 27, 1958 against the New York Rangers in a 5-3 loss. This collection of 4 vintage B&W photos includes shots of Richard holding the magic 600th goal puck, his stick with a “600” written on the blade, enjoying a postgame cigar, and a pregame shot of his two young sons watching him tape up his stick. First two photos measure 6 x 8”, latter two 8 x 10”, with original photographic stampings on back. Photos average Good to Very Good, with degrees of corner and border damage.
