President Franklin Roosevelt, in his 1st year in the White House, gave the crowd at Griffith Stadium a thrill when he threw out the first pitch of the 1933 World Series. The moment is captured in this original 6.5 x 8.5” photo showing FDR cranking up his right arm, while being held tightly on his left arm by Senators player-manager Joe Cronin, who stands next to dour-looking Giants player-manager Bill Terry (maybe he voted for Hoover). Behind Terry is Senator owner Clark Griffith. Back has a newspaper clipping of the photo stamped Oct. 6, 1933 and a blank area with a handwritten editorial number. Photo technically EX but actually better as it is has some magic marker writing on the left and right borders, unaffecting the sharp image area.
