Rare 1932 Summer Olympics postcard sent by U.S. Olympic hockey team coach George Brown -- who would taste a near “Miracle on Ice” months later at the Winter Games in Lake Placid when his team would play mighty Canada to a 3-OT tie in the gold medal game, winding up with the silver. Postcard sent to his wife in Massachusetts is dated Aug. 3 with an L.A. postmark and shows a scene titled “Flags of the Nations at Olympic Village”. Brown wrote on mailing side of 3.5 x 5.5” card, “Received three of your letters at same time. Love, George” in pen. Card is G-VG w/a few scattered stains on the front and light soiling on verso, though the corners and edges are fairly sharp.
