This postcard of Andy Warhol's 1985 "Pete Rose" that is signed by the artist will not be denied admission into any collector's Hall of Fame. Warhol autographed in black marker on the side and it rates a splashy 9/10. The reverse includes a private letter and the upper left printing says: "Cincinnati Art Museum. Andy Warhol (b. 1928). Pete Rose 1985. Purchase, Bequest of Mr. and Mrs. Walter J. Wichgar." The museum commissioned Warhol to create this portrait commemorating Rose's breaking of Ty Cobb's career hits mark. Adapted from a shot snapped by Cincinnati photographer Gordon Baer, the painting is designed to resemble baseball cards. The 5 1/2 by 7-inch oversized postcard (VG+) is creased but is a dynamite collaboration of two pop icons, Warhol and Rose.
