Framed together with original mailing envelope, the letter reads in part: "Dear Mel: The World's Fair will hold a SPORTS WRITERS' FIELD DAY for BOYS Saturday morning, September 2 and the boys have asked me to invite you to be a Judge... I consider you an expert on baseball; I understand you are a member of the World's Fair Sports Committee and I know you are just as anxious as I am to help the growing generation of American boys."
