Classic photo of manchild Ruth during his first full big-league season, 1915. At 20, Ruth was already the talk of baseball as a hybrid creature who could pitch and hit home runs. By season's end, he would go 18-8 on the mound and hit 4 homers -- good for ninth in the league. Not incidentally, the Red Sox would win it all, and would twice more before trading Ruth to the Yankees in 1920 in mankind's single greatest act of insanity. This 6 1/2 x 8" International News photo was made from the original negative printed in the early1920s and the wire service stamp and markings are on the back. Some incidental staining and wear, but o/a EX and one of the most compelling of Ruth images.
