Lou Gehrig personified toughness and consistency in baseball, earning the nickname "The Iron Horse" before he was stricken with the debilitating disease that now bears his name. Presented is a lovely 20" high bronze of Lou Gehrig made with incredible detail. Gehrig is depicted swinging his bat in Yankee pinstripes. Both the NY on the front of his uniform and the 4 on the back are painted navy while his belt is painted light brown. Gehrig's facial features and uniform are captured in intracate detail right down to the laces on his shoes and the stripes on his socks. Beautiful marble base is painted with classic Yankee pinstripes. Below Gehrig on the side of the bronze is engraved, "The Pride of the Yankees". NRMT.
