Typed letter, dated May 21, 1942, on, "Kansas City Monarch Baseball Club-Worlds Colored Champions," letterhead signed in black ballpoint by Thomas Baird (8/10), former owner of the most successful Negro League team of all-time. At the time the letter was created Baird was employed as Secretary and Treasurer of the team. Content includes mention of the Monarchs upcoming games with MLB teams and playing with Bob Feller and Dizzy Dean. Strong ink and graphics with only the original mailing folds, EX-MT.
