Player's ring is the first to surface in the hobby - one of 25 in existence. 10 karat, size 8 prize was presented to outfielder, Curt Ford following the 1987 season, in which the St. Louis Cardinals proved they were the NL’s best, but not enough to prevent the surprising Twins from capturing their first World Championship in Minnesota. Top is flat circular surface with “National League Champions, 1987” in raised lettering around the perimeter and 3 small rubies arched above a larger diamond with “St. Louis Cardinals” in raised text along the bottom two sides. Left shank is the name, “Ford” and “Cardinals 27” with miniature design of team logo. Right shank is “3,072,122” above a miniature of Busch Stadium and “World Series 15” on a banner. Inner ring is engraved, “CTO 10K”. EX-MT condition.
