Willie Foster was one of the greatest left-handed pitchers in the history of the Negro Leagues, and played mostly for the Chicago American Giants. His half brother, Rube Foster, is known as The Father of Negro League Baseball. This assorted collection was extracted from Willie Foster’s personal scrapbook. Contains: (19) photos including a few of the Chicago American Giants team, other Negro Leaguers, one framed 15x13” from the 6th Annual East-West game at Comiskey Park, several small photos of family, friends and teammates, (5) sheets of “Homestead Grays” notepaper with handwritten notes in pencil regarding Foster (mostly imposed fines & charges), July 18, 1976 Memoriam to Rube Foster, a rare signature on a contract for purchase of trailer, & more. Condition is overall VG-EX to EX.
