Antiquated baseball prize is one of the earliest known trophies. The regulation baseball has a sterling silver band around the middle, which is attached with a small nail. Band is engraved, “L.B.B.C. v. L.C.C. 6 & 7, June 1877, 45 to 12.” The actual ball itself is quite dark in tone and considerably crazed. An intriguing piece of 19th century baseball lore.
