The grass roots of baseball represented in these rare 19th century baseball guides. The 1859 “baseball Player’s Pocket Companion” is extremely rare, boasting illustrated cloth cover and the fascinating nuances of the early national pastime within (with illustrations). For instance, the batter was referred to as “the striker.” Cover is VG, contents EX. 1867 Beadles “Dime Baseball Player”, “comprising the proceedings of the tenth annual Baseball Convention, together with the amended rules adopted, rules for the formation of clubs, and the Constitution and by-laws of the National Association” is in VG-EX condition.
