Erratum: The reserve on this lot is $3,000 and not $200 as erronously printed in the catalog
Flub-A-Dub handpainted marionette head was the most important part of the full Flub-A-Dub puppet used in the production of the Howdy Doody TV show in the 1950s. The Flub-A-Dub head is mechanical in hand-carved wood with movable mouth and eyes. Missing his hat and some other minor damage can be easily restored. Measures 10" long and would be the ultimate starter to turn this back into the full, complete puppet. An important piece of televisiopn Americana from the show that created the need for America to first purchase television sets. An incredibly rare and important prop from the TV show that warmed the hearts of America from the 1940s to the 1960s and (nostalgically) still does to this day.
This item is accompanied by a DVD featuring the Flub-A-Dub head on the Howdy Doody Show in June, 1949.
