Part of Buffalo Bob’s 1948 “Howdy for President” Campaign, which he launched during the first few weeks of the show’s airing. No, he wasn’t running for President of the United States, he was campaigning to be the President of “All the Boys and Girls”. This campaign catapulted Howdy’s popularity to the next level, and Buffalo Bob received about a quarter of a million requests for “Howdy for President” press pins from kids who watched the show. Now all you “kids” who grew up watching the show can relish in this yellow corduroy jacket, beautifully embroidered on the verso with Buffalo Bob’s face. The bubble coming from his mouth reads, “Buffalo Bob says Howdy Doody for President”. Above is the head of the beloved, Howdy Doody. Front right lapel with embroidered in black thread, “Buffalo Bob”. Collar tagging is “Hi Teen Fashions styled by Broadway Knitting Mills Buffalo, NY”. Some staining to the front right tail, otherwise the jacket is in beautiful condition, all embroidering like new. From the collection of Buffalo Bob Smith.
