Vintage fold-over Christmas card signed by Eddie Cicotte (1884-1969), one of the main conspirators in the infamous 1919 "Black Sox" scandal. Cicotte has inscribed the card "Have a nice Christmas as ever Eddie V. Cicotte" in blue ink, with both the text and signature grading 9/10. The year, "1961," is written in pencil in the top right corner of the interior greeting page. Signed Christmas cards by Major League players are rare, especially those signed by significant players such as Cicotte. This example, as well as several others in this auction, all originate from the same consignor, whose husband spent decades amassing one of the largest such collections we have ever seen. The card (6x7"; unfolded) remains in Excellent condition. Full LOA from PSA.
