Displayed is a David Beauregard San Jose Sharks professional model jersey. Beauregard was an 11th Round San Jose Sharks pick in the 1994 NHL Draft who later completely lost the sight in his left eye from an on-ice accident. On Oct. 16, 1994, Beauregard was playing left wing in a game for the Saint-Hyacinthe Laser against the Granby Bisons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. An opponent's high stick accidentally went through the gap in his face shield and cost Beauregard the sight in his left eye. On the play, after the injury, Beauregard amazingly continued skating on a breakaway and scored a goal.

Beauregard had to begin his career again, with only one eye and an enormous loss of depth perception. In a subsequent professional trek that lasted 14 seasons, and included teams in many leagues, such as the Central Hockey League, the East Coast Hockey League, the American Hockey League, and even play in Europe, Beauregard pressed on. Despite the odds against him, he never gave up trying to make the NHL, and played 911 professional hockey games, all in the minor leagues or Europe. As a pro, he scored 540 goals, and he added 452 assists for 992 points. His inspiring play earned him numerous awards, such as The Man of the Year (Saint-Hyacinthe Lasers) 1994-95, the Central Hockey League Rookie of the Year, in 1997-98, and being selected for the First Team Eastern International Hockey League All-Star Team (2008-09).

The offered jersey was most likely made for Beauregard to use, but he never wore it. The 100% polyester jersey has a Maska manufacturer's tag in the collar. The collar also has a size tag reading "54." The white jersey has a collar trimmed in black and teal. The Sharks logo, a shark biting into a hockey stick, is on the chest. The lower front has horizontal stripes in teal, black, and gray. Each sleeve has "62" in teal trimmed in black, and the lower section of each sleeve has horizontal teal, black, and gray stripes. Inside is a fight strap. The back has a white sewn-on nameplate with "BEAUREGARD" stenciled in teal lettering. Beneath the nameplate is "62" in applied teal lettering trimmed in black. The lower, outside back tail has two sewn-on tags: "CCM" and "NHL." The jersey is in EXCELLENT condition.
