"I don't think anyone ever liked to play more than I did," said Hall of Fame second baseman Nellie Fox, whose enthusiasm was evident and who was an extremely popular player. Offered is a beautiful, signed Nellie Fox custom card. Fox was 5'10", and 160 lbs. and batted left. He played 19 Major League seasons: Philadelphia Athletics (1947-49), Chicago White Sox (1950-63), Houston Colt .45s/Astros (1964-65). Fox batted a lifetime .288 with 1,279 runs. He was a 15-time All-Star and a 3-time Gold Glove. Nellie's best season was 1959, when his Chicago "Go-Go Sox" won the AL pennant, with the emphasis on "small ball." Fox was the AL MVP in '59, when he batted .306 with 84 runs and 70 RBI - despite hitting only a pair of home runs.

The offered signed custom card measures approx. 3.5x5.2". The card is unusually thick, measuring approx. an eighth-inch. The front of the card is black, with gold-colored trim and the gold-colored lettering of "Nellie Fox." The front has a black-and-white image of Fox demonstrating his bunting form, in his White Sox home uniform, and a "cutout" area, measuring about 1.1x3.25", that displays Fox's autograph. The back has a black-and-white photograph of Fox, again in his home white uniform, demonstrating his fielding form just prior to fielding a grounder. Gold-colored lettering on back reads, "One of One." In both photos, Fox evidently has his ever-present chaw of tobacco bulging in his left cheek.

Fox scripted his 7 or 8/10 signature in blue ballpoint ink. The back has a JSA Certification sticker (AX15591) for the Fox signature that matches the JSA Basic Certification Number (card) enclosed with the offering. This custom one-of-one card is in EXCELLENT condition.
