From the Brown Brothers Collection, a vintage Type II photograph of Hall of Fame shortstop Joe Tinker. The 6.5x8.5" black and white photo shows the player in a crouch fielding a ball. The image has been encapsulated by PSA/DNA and the service has authenticated the picture as an Authentic Type II. Tinker began his career with the Chicago Orphans (later the Cubs) in 1902. He would later be immortalized in Franklin Pierce Adam's poem Baseball's Sad Lexicon, which bemoans hitting a ball in the direction of Tinker, Evers, or Chance. Tinker would act as a player manager for both the Cubs and the Cincinnati Reds. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1946 and he would pass away two years later.
