Presented is a 1930 New York Giants team-signed Spalding Official National League Ball. The 1930 Giants played in New York City's Polo Grounds V. They were managed by Hall of Famer John McGraw and had an 87-67 record, good for 3rd place in the NL. Signed on the ball: Hall of Famers - Travis Jackson, Dave Bancroft, and Fred Lindstrom. Plus, Doc Marshall, Fred Leach, Harry Rosenberg, Chick Fullis, Hughie Critz, Fran Healy, Andy Reese, Ethan Allen, Wally Roettger, Pete Donohue, Roy Parmelee and others. Dave Bancroft, at age 39, played very little and had only 1 hit in 17 at bats. An unknown hand wrote in the sweet spot, in black fountain ink "GIANTS Aug? -30," indicating that the ball was signed during August 1930. Signing on the sweet spot: Chuck Fullis and an illegible signature. Several other signatures are illegible or very faint. The ball has a number of small spots in which the "skin" of the ball has peeled off. The ball has been coated with a thin coat of shellac or similar. The ball is in overall very good condition.
