Original Type I photograph capturing Babe Ruth and his business manager Christy Walsh securing Ruth's economic future by establishing a trust fund in 1927. The pair are pictured seated together with Frank L. Hilton, Vice President of the Bank of Manhattan, as Ruth hands Hilton a check in the amount of $50,000 to open the trust. That information is provided by the original Underwood & Underwood paper news caption, dated "8/9/27," which appears on the reverse (the caption was once torn and away and has been reattached by means of clear tape). An Underwood & Underwood credit stamp also appears on the reverse, along with a handwritten editorial notation. Christy Walsh was Ruth's business agent for much of Ruth's career and the most important decision he made for Ruth was the formation of a trust, so that Ruth and his family would have a reliable source of income for the rest of his life. Ruth was in the midst of his record-breaking sixty-home-run season at the time this photo was taken, but even off the field, his every action commanded the attention of the press. The photo (10x8") displays a chip in each corner, edge tears, and light creasing. Full LOA from PSA certifying it as Type I Authentic.
