Circa 1930s Type I photograph of New York Yankees legend Babe Ruth. The original news service photo shows Ruth posing in the stands with Jacob Ruppert, who owned the Yankees from 1915-34. Written in pencil on the back of the photo is "1934 Babe Ruth Tour of Japan," and World Wide Photos. The original size of the photo would be around 5x5" but this picture has been trimmed in the corners. The picture has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA. The tours conducted by teams like the Yankees helped to grow interest in the sport in the country of Japan. The larger than life Ruth was a particularly strong attraction, as can be seen in this photo.
