An Adirondack model baseball bat issued to Hall of Fame third baseman Mike Schmidt. The item has a flame burned finish, is 36" long and weighs 35.8 ounces. MS20, for Schmidt's initials and numbers is stamped onto the knob. These were the specifications for Schmidt's bats during the 1974-79 time period, though this item is unused. Schmidt, who won 3 MVP Awards, made 12 All-Star games and won 10 Gold Gloves, is considered to be one of the greatest third basemen of all-time. He retired following the 1989 season and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1995.
