A game used baseball hit by former Kansas City Athletics and New York Mets third baseman Ed Charles attributed to his first Major League home run. The ball is inscribed by Charles, reading, "1st Major League Home Run," and "Hit off Turk Lown in Chicago, 1962." Charles' first Major League home run was against the Chicago White Sox in 1962 but the pitcher was Ray Herbert, so it's possible that Charles wrote Turk's name accidentally. Charles played in the big leagues from 1962 through 1969 and was a member of the New York Mets' 1969 World Championship team. He passed away in 2018 at the age of 84.
