Presented is a pair of Ronald Acuna batting gloves that were game worn by the Atlanta Braves outfielder from July 2nd to July 7th of his 2023 NL MVP and 40/70 season, including his 40th stolen base of the season. No player in history had ever had a season of at least 40 home runs and 70 stolen bases before Acuna reached the mark. Acuna was then driven in from second on a hit by Ozzie Albies to win the game and give the Braves the home field advantage throughout that season's upcoming playoffs. In his NL MVP 2023 season, Acuna didn't join the 40/70 Club, he created it. The right fielder finished with 41 circuit blasts and 73 steals. leading the NL in thefts. Acuna also led the NL that season in runs (149), hits (217), OBP (.416), OPS (1.012), and total bases (383).

The offered batting gloves are Nike Elite, with the back of the inside pad of the left glove showing size XL. The colorful gloves are mostly bright yellow, with blue and green. Each of the wristband part of the gloves features a Nike Gorilla logo. The gloves evidence significantly heavy wear with heavy stains from pine tar.. The wristband part of each glove has separated from the rest of the gloves, and both parts of each glove are included. Per his 2023 teammate Charlie Culberson, when he came back to the dugout after his final at-bat on July 7th, frustrated at his 0-for-4 performance, Acuna ripped his batting gloves off, tearing off the end of each (included in the lot) and threw the gloves towards the dugout trash can. Culberson picked them up, and at the end of that season conveyed the gloves to BG Authentics. Comes with COA that states this, and Culberson also stated that Acuna wore these gloves during games of 7/2 (Getty 1509717027 & 1509717029), 7/3 (Getty 1476385728), 7/4 (Getty 1501989417), 7/5 (Getty 1519708913), and 7/7 (Getty 1523616400). During these games, Acuna had 7 hits as well as stolen bases #38, #39, #40, and #41 during Acuna's record setting season as baseball's first 40/70 (steals/home runs) season in the history of baseball.
