Offered is a 1946 Jack "Buddy" Brewer New York Giants game worn, flannel home jersey. Brewer was a Californian who pitched his entire three-season MLB career for the New York Giants. The right-hander had a career major League record of 9-10 with a 4.36 ERA. His best season was in '45, when he had an 8-6 record with a 3.83 ERA. In 1946, he only pitched in two innings, giving up three earned runs, with no decisions.

As World War II had ended, this red, white, and blue jersey was the last jersey set of the New York Giants to use those patriotic colors. The collar tag shows "Gold Smith" as the manufacturer, and an adjacent collar tag indicates a size "44." A working zipper runs down the front. Red and blue piping flanks the zipper. "GIANTS" runs across the chest, in blue sewn-on letters, with red trim. The neck has red and blue piping. Across the back is "21" in blue sewn-on numerals with red trim. There are a number of small holes, cause unknown, on the jersey front, and a few small holes, cause unknown, on the back. There are a few small stains, some loose threads, and what could be a burn from an iron, on the left front. On the left, inner tail is a tag "'46 1," showing year and set number. Although there are a number of small imperfections, their impact is very minor, and it does not substantially affect the appearance of the jersey, a nice, and all-original, example of the New York Giants' World War II patriotic, red, white, and blue regalia.
