Presented is an Andre Dawson 1990 signed and inscribed professional model game used bat. Known as "the Hawk," Dawson earned his nickname from an uncle who gave him the moniker, as a boy, for the aggressive way he swooped down on ground balls. Dawson played 21 Major League seasons: Montreal Expos (1976-86), Chicago Cubs (1987-92), Boston Red Sox (1993-94), Florida Marlins (1995-96). He was mostly a right fielder. He batted a career .279 with 438 home runs. He was an 8-time All-Star, an 8-time Gold Glove recipient, and the 1987 NL MVP. In '90, Dawson had a fine year, with a .310 batting average, 27 home runs, and 100 RBIs.

The offering is an Ash Worth bat. There is a handle crack. There are numerous ball marks, and the handle has been scored and there is a light coat of pine tar on the handle. Very slight checking is on the back barrel. The barrel reads, "Hand Crafted ANDRE DAWSON MODEL." On the knob of the barrel is "8 U225" in blue/green marker written by an unknown hand. Etched into the bottom of the handle is "A D/4 1/2/W225." Also, on the bottom of the handle is "8" in black marker written by an unknown hand. The bat has a length of 34.5" and a weight of 30.9 ounces. Dawson signed the bat on the barrel in neat, fine tip black marker. Using the same writing implement, he neatly inscribed the barrel: "1977 R.o.Y. [sic] - 1987 N.L. MVP/300 HRs - 300 SB's - 3.000 Hits 9/22/90."  The offering comes with a PSA Letter of Grading and Authenticity, with a PSA/DNA Certification: 1B33950 and a bat grade of PSA "GU 9.5."
