Original photograph capturing Frankie Frisch showing off the baseball toy he invented to three of his teammates and former New York Giants manager Jim Mutrie. As noted by the printed news caption affixed to the reverse, Frisch designed the tin batting toy, "Home Run King," which today is a scarce baseball collectible. The text also makes note that at the time, Mutrie was the oldest living professional ballplayer. An "Excelsior Commercial Photo Co." credit stamp appears on the reverse. This photo was originally obtained at the 1996 Sotheby's sale of the Baseball Magazine photo archives and features a hologram label from that historic sale on the reverse. The photo (9x7") displays a small tear (paper loss) along the top border and a tiny chip in the lower left corner. A few light creases are also evident. This is a must-have photo for any collector who already owns a "Home Run King" toy, as it is the perfect companion piece.
