A massive framed lithograph of the famed bareknuckle fight between Tom Sayers and John C. Heenan in 1860. The piece was originally drawn by W.L. Walton and produced by George Newbold. This piece is in fine shape, especially considering its age. Bareknuckle fighting was considered brutal, even in 1860, and there were attempts to stop the bout from happening. The fight ended in a draw when spectators, shocked at the brutality of the bout, entered the ring. Both fighters received half of the purse. Sayers would never fight again after the bout and Heenan would fight once more, losing to Tom King.
