Displayed is a trio of Dodgers legends original photos, all with great ties to the 1950s-60s Brooklyn/Los Angeles franchise. 1) 1955, Johnny Podres in a signed, 7x9" original black & white photo with Hall of Fame Dodgers manager Walter Alston. The International News Photo slug line on back reads, in part, "Brooklyn, N.Y.... Brooks Pitcher Johnny Podres, (LEFT) who hurled the Dodgers to an 8-3 [World Series] victory over the Yanks today, and pilot Walter Alston each hold up finger indicating the team's first Series triumph. The score in games stands 2-1 in favor of the Bombers." Of course, the Dodgers went on to win the club's only Brooklyn World Series triumph when Podres beat the Yanks again in the '55 World Series, shutting out New York 2-0 in Game 7. The offering has a fold on the lower left and a stain on the left margin. Podres signed a neat, big and bold signature in blue marker. The photo has been encapsulated and PSA/DNA Certified "TYPE I AUTHENTIC." 2) A circa 1950s Don Newcombe original news service photo. "Newk" was 6'3", very tall for a pitcher in his time. He was the first pitcher to ever win a Rookie of the Year Award, a Cy Young Award and an MVP in his career. He was a key part of the '55 Dodgers, both as a top-flight pitcher and a clutch pinch hitter. On back is a NEA Service, N.Y. stamp. The photo has been encapsulated and PSA Certified as "TYPE I AUTHENTIC." The photo is in EXCELLENT condition. 3) a 1972 Maury Wills original photograph of the Hall of Fame shortstop. Wills played 14 Major League seasons, most notably for the Los Angeles Dodgers. In '62, he stole 104 bases to break the modern MLB season mark of Ty Cobb's 96 steals. On back is a St. Petersburg Times (Tony Lopez-photographer) stamp. The 8.1x9" photo has a small tape remnant on top, some rough lower corners, and some small folds and crinkles. The photo has been encapsulated and PSA Certified as "TYPE I AUTHENTIC."
