Presented is a mid-1920s Max Carey game used bat. This dark brown Hillerich & Bradsby bat is 35" long and weighs 38.4 oz. The bat is uncracked and shows outstanding signs of use. The knob of the bat is chipped, and ball marks and cleat marks are visible on the barrel. There is also some checking (grain swelling) on the barrel from repeated ball contact. Carey played for this Pittsburgh Pirates from 1910 through 1926, and for the Brooklyn Robins from 1926 through 1929. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1961. This bat was ordered for Carey during the 1925 season, and it has been graded GU 7 by PSA. A full LOA from PSA is included with the bat.
