Tris Speaker was a Hall of Fame center fielder known as "the Gray Eagle." Presented is an original Tris Speaker circa 1920s, Type I snapshot photograph. Speaker played 22 Major League seasons: Boston Americans/Red Sox (1907-15) Cleveland Indians (1916-26), Washington Senators (1927), Philadelphia Athletics (1928). As a center fielder, he played very close to the infield, and his records include most MLB career assists for an outfielder. He had such range that Speaker's glove was nicknamed "the place where triples go to die." The offered snapshot, showing Speaker in uniform, measures 3.25x5". On the bottom margin of the photo, an unknown hand has written "Speaker" in ink. On back, an unknown hand has written "4." The photo has been encapsulated and PSA Certified as "TYPE I AUTHENTIC."
