Displayed is a 1955 World Series Game 6 ticket stub for the Oct. 3rd game at Yankee Stadium, before 62,022, won by the New York Yankees over the Brooklyn Dodgers by a 5-1 score. The game marked the 3rd of 10 World Series wins for Yankees Hall of Fame left-hander Whitey Ford. The "Chairman of the Board" went the distance for the Bronx Bombers, giving up only four hits and striking out eight Dodgers. Brooklyn's only run came on a Carl Furillo single to drive in Pee Wee Reese in the 4th inning. The key hit for the Yankees was a 3-run homer in the 1st inning by Moose Skowron. In Game 7, the Dodgers' Johnny Podres shut out the Yankees 2-0 to give the Dodgers the team's only Brooklyn World Championship. The ticket stub measures 2.25x4.25". It reads, in part, "1955 WORLD SERIES/RAIN CHECK/GAME 6/GRANDSTAND/Standing Room/$4.20." The ticket stub has been encapsulated and PSA graded "VG 3."
